Head Coach Jay Wright:
"It's a young season but that is the best we have played in four games. That's a terrific team - smart, experienced and tough. (Luke) Fabrizius was incredible. I thought our upperclassmen really showed some leadership down the stretch when they made their run at us."
"We were playing well in the second half and got some breaks early to go up 18. But you know a team as good as (Dayton) is going to make a run at you. I thought we were doing the right things and grinding it out but they made some big-time threes. They have a way of driving the ball at you and creating 3-point opportunities that is tough to defend. On the play of freshman center Maurice Sutton: "Maurice was unbelievable. He played 30 minutes and had eight rebounds and really was a presence for us on the interior. We talked to him about being ready with Mouphtaou (Yaarou) not here and he did a great job for us. I thought he was the unsung hero for us."
On the 14-15 free throw shooting in the second half from the line: "We were terrible at the line last night. Part of being a good free throw shooting team is getting the right guys to the line. We had some experienced guys there tonight - Fish, Antonio Pena, Taylor King - and they did a great job converting those opportunities. I think we can be a very good free throw shooting team."
