BIG EAST Week 12 Release
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Villanova freshman Jack Rice (Baltimore, Md.) has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the 12th and final week of the season, as announced by the conference office today. Rice scored a hat trick against the then-No.14 Georgetown Hoyas in a 15-9 loss this past Saturday. It marked the fourth time this season that Rice has tallied at least three goals in a game.
At the conclusion of his freshman campaign, Rice netted 26 goals to put him in second place on the team and was fourth on the squad in total points for the season with 26. The BIG EAST accolade marks the third time this season the attackman has been honored by the conference.
Joel White of Syracuse and Rickey Mirabito of Georgetown were tabbed BIG EAST Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Villanova (10-5, 4-2 Big East) finished the season at No.18/17 in the USILA and Nike/Inside Lacrosse polls and claimed third place in the inaugural season of BIG EAST men's lacrosse.
