Oct. 16, 2012

The Villanova Wildcats have earned a spot in the Sports Network Top 25. Villanova earned 541 points and are No. 24 in this week's poll. This is the Wildcats first appearance in the Top 25 since Sept. 5, 2011. Prior to that poll, Villanova had been ranked in the Top 25 for 31 straight weeks.

Villanova (5-2 overall; 3-1 CAA) earned a spot in this week's Top 25 after its 38-14 upset win at No. 3 Old Dominion.

The Wildcats are one of six CAA teams ranked this week. The others include James Madison (No. 2), Old Dominion (No. 7), New Hampshire (No. 12), Towson (No. 18) and Delaware (No. 25).

Eastern Washington is the new No. 1 team in this week's poll. They replace the former top ranked squad North Dakota State who lost to Indiana State last Saturday.
