VILLANOVA, Pa. - Seniors Erin Malone and Hayley Edwards have been chosen by the NCAA to represent Villanova at the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis, Ind. on March 21-23. Malone and Edwards have broken seven university records between the two of them.
Malone (Sydney, Australia) notched two second-place finishes at the BIG EAST Championships this past weekend in the 100 and 200 yard butterflies. She set new school records in both events.
Edwards (Pilesgrove, N.J.) also had a tremendous weekend at the conference meet, earning two first place finishes in the 500 and 1650 yard freestyles. She broke a university record set by Maddy Crippin in the 1650 yard freestyle with her time of 16:14.98.
Villanova joins Louisville and Notre Dame as the only schools from the BIG EAST to participate in the championship tournament taking place on March 21-23.
