VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Wildcats travel to Chicago on Sunday afternoon to take on the DePaul Blue Demons in a Big East Conference contest. The game can be seen live on Fox Sports 1. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. central time and 3 p.m. eastern time. The Wildcats enter play 13-3 overall and 3-2 in Big East play, while DePaul is 12-5 overall and 3-2 in conference action.
Villanova concluded the non conference portion of the 2013-14 schedule with a 55-54 win over Penn on Wednesday night. The victory gave the Wildcats a 10-1 record in non conference contests. Beginning with the DePaul game this Sunday, Villanova will play 13 consecutive Big East games.
Two of the most tenured coaches in women's college basketball will square off on Sunday when head coach Harry Perretta and the Wildcats travel to Chicago to take on head coach Doug Bruno and the DePaul Blue Demons. Together, the duo have coached in 1,970 career games and have a combined 1,234 wins. Perretta is 651-407 in 36 years as the Wildcat mentor, while Bruno has a 30-year career mark of 583-329 (543-299 in 28 seasons at DePaul).
Villanova is led in scoring by senior guard Devon Kane who is averaging 11.4 points per game, while sophomore guard Caroline Coyer is second with a 10.9 points per game average. Kane also leads the team in assists (73). Junior forward Taylor Holeman is averaging a team-best 6.2 rebounds per contest and shooting a team-high 53.2 percent from the field.
