VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova men's swimming team (0-3) closed out the Homecoming Triple Header with a 174-85 loss to West Virginia on Saturday afternoon from the Villanova Swim Complex.
The Wildcats finished with seven second-place and 10 third-place finishes.
Senior Jason Moyer (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) earned two second place individual finishes in the 50 backstroke (24.43) and 50 butterfly (24.13).
Sophomore Mike Rodriguez (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) placed second in the 100 backstroke placing at 53.94, 1.44 seconds off the lead.
Senior Tony Sipala (South Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) finished second in the 100 breaststroke at 1:03.40.
Sophomore Harrison Rodts (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead) closed the 500 freestyle at 4:51.90, good for second place.
Junior Nikolai Tchobanov (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster High School) placed second in the 200 individual medley at 2:01.70.
The men closed out the Saturday meeting with a second place 200 freestyle relay. Freshman Joe Moleski (Tucson, Ariz./Bishop Guertin), Rodriguez, senior Chris Tamanini (Kingston Twp., Pa./Dallas) and Moyer swam legs one, two, three and four, respectively.
Villanova returns to the pool against Penn State in State College, Pa. for the first road meet of the year. The Wildcats and the Nittany Lions will meet on Fri., Oct. 31 at 3 p.m.
