Villanova Football Finishes The Season Ranked No. 7

PHILADELPHIA - The Sports Network released its final 2014 FCS Football Top 25 on Monday, Jan. 12. Villanova earned 2,894 points and tallied a final ranking of No.7 in the poll.

Villanova went 11-3 overall with a 7-1 CAA mark in 2014. The Wildcats advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA playoffs before losing to Sam Houston State by a score of 34-31.

North Dakota State finished the year ranked No. 1 after winning its fourth straight national championship last Saturday with a 29-27 victory over Illinois State.

The Wildcats are one of four CAA teams to be ranked in the final Top 25 poll of the season. New Hampshire finished with a No. 3 ranking, while Richmond checked in at No. 16 and James Madison at No. 18.
