Philadelphia - The Villanova men's swimming team (0-5, 0-2 BIG EAST) were defeated by the Penn Quakers, 139-116, Saturday afternoon at the Sheerr Pool.

The men picked up five-first place, five-second place, and seven-third place victories Saturday.

The men would notched their first victory of the afternoon in the 1 meter diving as Zach Romanovsky won the event with 176.10 points. This was Romanovsky's first win of the 2015-16 season.

In the 200 breast, Villanova would take first and second place as Logan Ziegler (2:15.79) and Tyler Nussbaum (2:16.80) had strong showings.

The Wildcat men would sweep the 500 freestyle as Harrison Rodts won the event with a time of 4:52.60. John Paul Naughton placed second with a 5:01.93 showing, and Greg Cino place third at 5:05.45.

The 'Cats would also sweep the 100 fly, 200 IM, and the 200 freestyle relay. Jake Hoin (51.85), Murphy Smith (54.28), and Francis Garvey (56.93) went 1-3 in the 100 fly.

The 200 IM saw Luke Sabal win his first collegiate event with a time of 2:01.82. Nikolai Tchobanov (2:02.72),and Tyler Nussbaum (2:04.46) took home second and third place respectively.

The men won't return to action until after Thanksgiving when they will compete in the three-day Princeton Invitational December 4-6.
