Philadelphia - The Villanova women's swimming team (5-1, 2-0 BIG EAST) dropped a dual meet to the Penn Quakers Saturday afternoon, 176.5-121.5.
The women picked up four-first place, ten-second place, and eight-third place victories Saturday.
Caitlin Daday would pick up Villanova's first victory of the day in the 1000 free as she finished with a time of 10:08.52. Emily Mayo placed second at 10:14.28.
In the 50 free, Kaisla Kollanus came up just 11 hundredths of a second away from first place as she finished with a time of 23.50. Penn's Rochelle Dong finished at 23.39.
Kollanus (51.23) once again came up just short to Dong (51.28) this time in the 100 free by just three hundredths of a second.
The Wildcats next first place finish would come in the 200 yard back as Darby Goodwin notched her sixth individual victory of the year with a time of 2:01.75.
Gabby Daigneault would take first place in the 200 IM with a 2:07.35 showing.
The Wildcat women would close the day sweeping the 200 yard free relay as the Villanova "A" team of Alexa Fabbri, Kollanus, Taylor Wilson, and Jessie Randolph finished at 1:36.40.
The women won't return to action until after Thanksgiving when they will compete in the three-day Princeton Invitational December 4-6.
