2015-16 Villanova Softball Schedule

Villanova, Pa.- Villanova head softball coach Maria DiBernardi has announced the 2015-16 schedule Monday afternoon. The schedule includes five tournaments to start of the season, and 19 total homes games.

The spring will kick off on February, 19-21 when the `Cats travel to Madeira Beach, Fla. for the Eastern Michigan/Madeira Beach Invitational. There they will take on George Mason, Manhattan, Georgia Southern, North Florida, and Siena.

Villanova will remain in Florida to compete in two other tournaments both called the University of South Florida Under Armour Invitational.

The first tournament will run February, 26-28, and the other one will run March 4-6. In the February portion of the tournament, the Wildcats will play Georgia State, fellow BIG EAST opponent Seton Hall, and Eastern Michigan.

In the March portion, Villanova will face off against Western Michigan, East Carolina, Indian University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), Sam Houston State, and Northern Kentucky.

The fourth tournament of the year will be the Delaware Invitational March 11-13. The fifth and final tournament will the Towson Tiger Classic March 19-20.

BIG EAST conference play will begin on March 24-25 against DePaul in Chicago where the Wildcats will play their first of 21 total conference games.

Home non-conference opponents for Villanova include Monmouth (March 28), Drexel (March 29), Penn (April 5), and Lafayette (April 14).

Away non-conference opponents for the Wildcats include La Salle (April 12), and Rider (April 20).

Home BIG EAST opponents include St. John's (April 2-3), Seton Hall (April 9-10), Georgetown (April 23-24), and Butler (April 30-May 1).

Away BIG EAST opponents include DePaul (March 24-25), Creighton (April 16-17), and Providence (May 7-8).

The top four teams in the BIG EAST will move on to the BIG EAST tournament on May 13-14 in Rosemont, Ill.

The schedule is subject to change before the start of the season.
