VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's (5-5, 2-0 BIG EAST) and men's (2-8, 1-2 BIG EAST) swimming teams are set to compete at the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships in Ithaca, N.Y. at the Ithaca College Athletics and Events Center Aquatics Pavilion from Wed., Feb. 18 to Sat., Feb. 21.
Villanova will only race in swimming events. Finals events start on each day at 6 p.m. ET. The prelims for each event (excluding relays and the 1650 freestyle) start at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. A full schedule of events can be found HERE.

Times of Finals Events
Wednesday will feature finals events for the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay. Thursday's finals events consist of the 50 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and the 200 individual medley.
Finals events for the 100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 200 freestyle, 400 individual medley and the 400 medley relay will take place on Saturday. On the final day of competition, Saturday, the 200 butterfly, 200 breaststoke, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 1650 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay finals will be decided.
On the Year: Wildcat Women
The women went 5-5 on the season with non-conference wins over La Salle (10/23), West Virginia (10/25) and Richmond (1/30) and conference victories over Georgetown (11/8) and Seton Hall (11/8). The women also earned a fourth-place finish at the seven-school Hokie Invite back in late November.
Villanova garnered seven BIG EAST Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week awards this year which included nods for freshman Gabby Daigneault on Oct. 28, junior Fiona Hardie on Nov. 4, senior Sara Jurek on Nov. 11 and sophomore Emily Mayo on both Nov. 26 and Dec. 9 and junior Kaisla Kollanus on Feb. 3 and Feb. 10.
The women are looking to repeat at the championships this season after winning the conference last year as 12 Wildcat women were named to the All-BIG EAST Team, including 11 2014-15 returners. Fiona Hardie was also named the Women's Co-Most Outstanding Swimmer at last year's conference championships.
Behind Villanova (842), Georgetown (690) finished second last year along with Xavier (574), Seton Hall (530), Providence (310.5) and Butler (230.5).
On the Year: Wildcat Men
The men went 2-8 on the year with a non-conference win over the United States Merchant Marine Academy (1/11) and a conference victory at Providence (1/17).
Senior Jason Moyer was named the BIG EAST Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week twice this campaign on Oct. 28 and Jan. 20.
The men finished in fourth place at last year's conference championships that saw Xavier (924) claim the conference title and Georgetown (715.5) and Seton Hall (492) finish second and third. Providence (298) rounded out the five competing teams.
Ticket Information
All-session tickets are sold out for the event, but single session tickets, which are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors (65+), children 17 and under and students with a valid ID, will be sold at the door during the event. Single session tickets can only be purchased by cash transactions; credit card transactions will not be available. Single session tickets will only be good for the day of purchase and cannot be purchased in advance.
Children two and under are free of charge. There will be no refunds or exchanges on site. All seating is general admission.
Venue
The Aquatics Pavilion includes a nine-lane 50-meter Olympic-sized swimming poll, with 21 25-yard lanes, a diving area and separate hot tub/spa, two movable bulkheads, a wet classroom for athletic and academic programs and seating for 1,000.
