BLACKSBURG, Va. - At the VT Challenge meet on Saturday afternoon, senior Alexandra Wasik (Medina, Ohio) cleared a height of 4.12 meters in the pole vault to finish second overall out of 10 competitors in the seeded section of the event. Her mark of 4.12 meters is her second-best of the season.

Wasik passed at the earlier heights in the pole vault progression and made her first attempt when the bar was set at 3.97 meters. She cleared that height on her first try and was also successful on her first attempt at 4.12 meters. The bar then moved up to 4.27 meters and Wasik missed her three attempts there.

Villanova is getting ready for the BIG EAST Championships next week and the team will be looking to defend its team title. The conference meet takes place next Saturday and Sunday (February 28 and March 1) at the New York Armory.
