VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's (5-4, 2-0 BIG EAST) and men's (2-7, 1-2 BIG EAST) teams will host the Pittsburgh Panthers on Sat., Feb. 7 at the Villanova Swim Complex. The Saturday morning dual starts at 10 a.m. The Wildcats will be recognizing seven seniors from the team before the start of competition. The senior ceremony will commence at 9:45 a.m.

No diving events will be contested.

Villanova's seven seniors are: Claire Aksamit (Rochester, Minn./Lourdes), Katrin Heider (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany/Herkenrath), Sara Jurek (Gilbert, Ariz./Chandler), Kate Koch (Towson, Md./Towson), Jason Moyer (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh), Tony Sipala (South Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) and Chris Tamanini (Kingston Twp., Pa./Dallas). It will come as the class's last home meet for their collegiate careers.

The women recently defeated Richmond at the Villanova Swim Complex on Fri., Jan. 30 by the score of 147-110. Junior Kaisla Kollanus (Hyvinkaa, Finland/Makelanrinteen Iukio) won the 50 and 100 freestyle events en route to being named the BIG EAST Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week on Tuesday and the Corvias ECAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for the Division I South region on Wednesday.

Freshman Gabby Daigneault (Montreal, Quebec/William H. Hall) also won two individual events in the Richmond defeat. The Montreal native earned wins in the 100 and 200 backstroke while also helping the squad win the 200 medley relay by swimming the first leg.

Fellow freshman Caitlin Daday (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) emerged victorious in the 500 and 1000 freestyle events as the Wildcats had three women each win two individual events.

The men last raced at Providence on Sat., Jan. 17 as the men defeated the Friars, 117-83, for the squad's first BIG EAST win of the year. It also came as the men's second-straight victory after downing the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 151-111, on Jan. 11.
