VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Wildcats put the cap on one of the most memorable of their 95 seasons of basketball on Thursday night at the 2014-15 Banquet at the Pavilion.

Seniors JayVaughn Pinkston and Darrun Hilliard led the list of award winners announced here.

Pinkston, who came to Villanova as a McDonald's All-American in 2010, became only the 11th player in program history to finish with 1,500 or more career points (1,592) and 700 or more rebounds (737). He was presented with the Villanova Basketball Award, considered to be the highest honor for a Wildcats player.

Hilliard, who was named a second team All-American by the Sporting News in 2014-15, was named the Most Outstanding Player. This native of Bethlehem, Pa., led the Wildcats with a 14.3 scoring average as a senior and was tabbed the Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Year as well as a first team All-BIG EAST choice.

Junior Daniel Ochefu paced the BIG EAST in field goal percentage (.644) and finished third in the conference in rebounding. The 6-11 forward took home the first ever Villanova "Attitude" award before the guests seated on the floor of the Pavilion.

Co-BIG EAST Player of the Year Ryan Arcidiacono and sophomore forward Darryl Reynolds are the 2015 recipients of the Jake Nevin Award. The Alexander Severance Award, honoring academic success, went to Hilliard and freshman Phil Booth. And the Paul Arizin award, recognizing improvement on the court, was shared by sophomores Josh Hart and Kris Jenkins.

Chuck Everson, a 1986 graduate and active member of the basketball family, was presented with the Alumni Achievement award by George Raveling, a 1960 graduate who was recently elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as a contributor (he was previously honored with the John Bunn Award in Springfield).

Other award winners included Tom Nerney (Nova Nation); Alex Mortillaro (Christopher M. Dincuff); Kristen Leen (Teresa and Joseph J. Martini Endowed Scholarship in Honor of Randy Foye) and Dr. Michael Duncan (Joseph Walters Special Recognition).

The evening was capped with remarks by senior student manager Mike Clark, Hilliard, and Pinkston. Hilliard and Pinkston both offered thanks to the Villanova community from helping them grow in their time on campus.

"I came here as a child," stated Pinkston in concluding his remarks, "I leave here as a man."

Villanova established a new single season program record for victories (33) in 2014-15 and rose as high as No. 2 in the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls. The Wildcats claimed the outright BIG EAST regular season title for the second straight season and added the BIG EAST Tournament title to that collection with a 69-52 victory over Xavier at Madison Square Garden.
