July 1, 2015 VILLANOVA, Pa. - Due to the World Meeting of Families and the Papal visit to Philadelphia, the Villanova/Penn football game will be moved from Saturday, Sept. 26, to Thursday, Sept. 24. Kickoff at Villanova Stadium will be at 7 p.m.
This change will give the Wildcats two Thursday night games on the 2015 slate. Villanova will open the season at Connecticut on Thursday, Sept. 3.
The World Meeting of Families and Papal visit is expected to bring thousands of visitors to Philadelphia and surrounding areas that will impact all modes of transportation, including vehicle travel, mass transit and airline travel. Availability at all area hotels will also be impacted by the visit.
