Aug. 27, 2015 Villanova, Pa. - Villanova Athletics today announced changes to the 2015 football broadcasting team. Ryan Fannon will move from the analyst role to play-by-play and former Wildcat gridiron standout Kevin Reilly will take over as the color analyst. Fannon, who is also the play-by-play voice for Villanova Basketball, has been the analyst for football for the past 22 seasons.
“We’re excited about Kevin Reilly joining our football broadcast team this year as our color analyst,” said Craig Curtis, general manager of Villanova IMG Sports Marketing, the university's multimedia rights partner.“As a former Wildcat standout, he’ll provide our fans with unique insight and perspective during the game. We’re also excited to have Ryan Fannon move into the play by play seat, similar to his role with our basketball broadcasts.”
A native of Wilmington, Del., Reilly played at Villanova from 1970-72 where he was the team’s MVP and first team All-East linebacker for his efforts during the 1972 season. Following his Wildcat career, Reilly went on to play three seasons in the NFL, including two with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The flagship station of the Villanova-IMG Sports Radio Network will be 610 Sports (WTEL AM).Villanova will kickoff the 2015 campaign on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Connecticut. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m., with the broadcast beginning at 7:15 p.m.
