Oct. 22, 2016 VILLANOVA, Pa. --The Villanova Wildcats hosted the 2016 Blue/White Scrimmage Saturday morning at the Pavilion. The contest was broken down into a pair of 15 minute games. In the first the White posted a 35-17 victory over Blue.
The headliners in the opening 15 minute session were a pair of Wildcats who redshirted in 2015-16. Sophomore Eric Paschall led the White team with 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and zero turnovers. Freshman Donte DiVincenzo connected on 4-of-6 field goal attempts, including three from beyond the 3-point arc, to finish with 11 points, two assists and two steals.
Senior Josh Hart paced the Blue squad with five points.
The White team jumped out to an early lead in the morning's second 15-minute contest before the Blue stormed back. A Hart drive and score with 12.3 seconds remaining thrust the Blue in front 33-32 setting up a final possession for the White team. Sophomore Jalen Brunson then drained a jumper with a hand in his face just as time expired to give the White a 34-33 victory.
Junior Phil Booth led all scorers with 15 points for the Blue team. Senior Kris Jenkins paced the White team with 13 points to go with three rebounds. Sophomore Mikal Bridges contributed 10 points to the White unit.
The morning session wrapped up with a series of four minute overtimes and then an autograph session on the court at the conclusion of the scrimmage.
