Full Release

New York, N.Y. - Villanova sophomore Alexa Fabbri (Yardley, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) was named the BIG EAST Female Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week, which was announced in the conference's weekly press release today. Fabbri earns the honor for her performances at the Rutgers Quad Meet.

Villanova junior Jake Hoin (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep) was also mentioned in the release for his efforts at the quad meet.

Fabbri helped the Wildcats go 3-0 on the weekend by winning the 50-yard free and 100-yard free with times of 23.66 and 51.80 respectively. Her times in these two events are currently the top times in the BIG EAST.

In addition to her individual events, Fabbri was also a member of the 200-yard free relay, 400-yard free relay, and the 200-yard medley relay that took first place at the meet.

This is the second weekly award that Villanova has won this season. Darby Goodwin was named the BIG EAST Female Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week on Oct. 25.

The Wildcats will be back in action this weekend when they host Penn at the Pavilion on Saturday, Nov. 12. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
