2017 Awards Ceremony Gallery

VILLANOVA, Pa -- Senior All-American Josh Hart led the list of winners at Thursday night's 2017 Men's Basketball Awards Ceremony held at the Pavilion.

Hart, a 6-5 product of Silver Spring, Md., is the recipient of the 2017 Villanova Basketball Award, which goes to the player who embody all of the best qualities of a Wildcat by placing the team's needs above his personal aspirations.

The 2017 BIG EAST Player of the Year was also honored along with teammate Jalen Brunson with the Most Outstanding Player award on this night. As a sophomore Brunson was a first team All-BIG EAST selection and a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award, which goes each year to the nation's top point guard.

The Villanova "Attitude" Award winner in 2017 is senior forward Darryl Reynolds. The Philadelphia native moved into the starting lineup on a regular basis as a senior and collected 5.4 rebounds per game in helping the Wildcats to the BIG EAST regular season and tournament championship.

The Paul Arizin Award, named in honor of the Naismith Hall of Famer, went to redshirt freshman guard Donte DiVincenzo, whose steady growth in his first full season seeing game action helped the Wildcats overcome a season-ending injury to Phil Booth and the loss for the season of Omari Spellman.

Senior Kris Jenkins and redshirt Mikal Bridges took home the Jake Nevin Award while redshirt sophomore Eric Paschall was the recipient of the Alexander Severance Award.

Jenkins was honored for moving into the 1,000 point club when he was presented with a basketball by Hart, who entered the fraternity in 2016 and ended his career as the program's 10th leading scorer in history (1,921 points).

Others honored on this night were former Wildcats' All-American Randy Foye (Alumni Appreciation Award); Scott O'Neil (Joseph J. Walters Special Recognition Award); John Folco (Teresa and Joseph J. Martini Endowed Scholarship in Honor of Randy Foye): Matt O'Neill (Christopher M. Dincuff Memorial Award); Mike Sheridan (Nova Nation Award).

Villanova spent eight weeks atop the Associated Press regular season poll and earned its fourth consecutive BIG EAST regular season title in 2016-17 (32-4 overall, 15-3 BIG EAST).
