Villanova Concludes Regular Season vs. Butler and Xavier

Wildcats in three way tie for fourth place

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The women's volleyball team will wrap up their 2018 season this weekend as they welcome the Butler Bulldogs on Friday night and the Xavier Musketeers on Saturday night to Jake Nevin Field House. The match against Xavier will serve as senior night to honor Villanova's five seniors.

Head coach Josh Steinbach on the final weekend, "clearly it is a huge weekend for us and we are excited we get to play those matches at home. They are two matches we lost on the road to Butler and Xavier and we felt like we weren't at our best. Hopefully we can turn it around and play better at home and continue our season. It is a big deal it's a big weekend for our seniors, big weekend for our team and we are excited for it."

The Wildcats enter the final weekend with a record of 15-13 and 8-8 in BIG EAST play. Villanova is tied with Georgetown and Xavier for the fourth spot in the BIG EAST Tournament next week in Omaha, Nebraska. Georgetown and Xavier play each other on Friday night.

Butler has a record of 9-19 and are 6-10 in conference play. Earlier this season the Wildcats lost at Butler 1-3. Xavier has a record of 10-17 and 8-8. Villanova lost on the road to the Musketeers 2-3 back on October 5th.

Friday's match will be live streamed on the BIG EAST Digital Network. Saturday's match against Xavier will be livestreamed on Nova Nation All Access. Both matches will have live stats.
