Butler Head Coach LaVall Jordan
Opening Statement,
"We have competitive guy in the locker room who are connected with one another and they hate to lose. Regardless of who we play, they decide how we are going to play, how we are going to compete each and every timeout. That doesn't mean we are going to win them all and we don't like that part, but it has helped establish an identity moving forward. We received contribution from multiple guys and we will continue to learn our next lesson when we get the chance. The guys have to gets stops and we didn't do that today as they were +11 from the foul line. We are going to pick ourselves up and get ready for the next game."
On the Villanova zone defense,
"We kind of expected it as they had many injuries coming into the game, but I didn't know how much to expect. I know it's part of their package defensively and I think we were having success in the paint. We could have handled it better as a coaching staff as we could have made better decisions on how to attack that."
When asked about Villanova's ability to not lose back-to-back games:
"They have a program like we have a program. When you have that much pride guys understand that you are playing for the guys that came before you. There's so much respect in the program and that's why it was a battle today because they fight to protect that streak as much as we do and so when you get out there it's going to be great game."
On the impact of Jorgenson,
"If we are playing at our best and Paul's making shots then great but it's not like we weren't happy with the looks he was getting, I think he will take every time, so he has to prove himself every day in practice."
