West Windsor, N.J. - On Saturday, the Villanova Women's Rowing team had five boats race in the Knecht Cup on Mercer Lake in New Jersey. Due to high predicted winds on Sunday, the two day regatta was condensed into one day. Villanova's Varsity-4 earned seventh place out of 18 teams, racing three times in one day putting out three very consistent performances. They advanced to the petite final, finishing with a time of 7:53.72, out racing Boston University, UConn and Kansas. The 2V8 made great strides in improving from their heat to their final, finishing just one second behind UMass in the petite final. They finished with a time of 7:01.07, beating Duquesne, Old Dominion and George Mason.
