No. 7 Villanova falls 22-6 to No. 4 Denver in a Friday night BIG EAST conference matchup at home.

The Pioneers were led by career high performances by Trevor Baptiste at the faceoff x and Ethan Walker on the offensive line.

Denver jumped to a quick 2-0 lead before the Wildcats would tie the game up. Connor Kirst and Keegan Khan netted the two Villanova goals but the Pioneers answered back going on a six goal run. Walker netted three of the goals while Austin French, Ted Sullivan, and Connor Flynn each found the back of the cage once.

Christian Cuccinello would score his first of the night with just 45 seconds to go in the first but Walker would score one final Denver goal with seven seconds to go give them a 9-3 lead.

During the second quarter Denver would score nine more goals, three of those were by Walker, who finished with eight goals. One was by Baptiste, who on the night went 27-for-30 from the center x with 17 ground balls. Cuccinello and Danny Seibel would each score one for Villanova, they trailed 18-5 at halftime.

The Pioneers netted three goals in the third and one in the fourth while Villanova's Kirst scored a goal in the fourth quarter to make the final 22-6.

Villanova will continue conference play next Saturday when they host the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday, April 14th. Game time is set for 1:00 P.M. and can be seen on Fox College Sports.
