NEW YORK – Villanova's Clare Delaplane was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for her play this past weekend at the Villanova Classic.

Delaplane played in every during the Villanova Classic where she helped lead the Wildcats to a 2-1 record including a win against No. 21 Utah. She had 30 kills including 10 in the 3-2 victory over No. 21 Utah. The Illinois native averaged 2.50 kills per set. Delaplane had 12 kills in the 3-1 victory on the road at Temple.

Junior middle blocker Allie Olsonoski was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second week in a row. She appeared in every set for Villanova this past weekend. Olsonoski had 25 kills during the Villanova Classic. The New Orleans native tied her season-high of seven blocks in the victory at Temple.

The Wildcats will head to Tulane this Friday for the Sugar Bowl Tournament. Villanova will play Clemson and Tulane on Friday and will conclude the tournament on Saturday against Arkansas Little Rock.
