VILLANOVA,
PA. -- Former Villanova football student-athlete Bob Wright passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20, at the age of 47. Wright, who graduated from Villanova in 1994, was an offensive lineman for head coach Andy Talley and the Wildcats from 1990-93.
Wright's four-year position coach was current Villanova head coach
Mark Ferrante.
Born to Jane and Bob Wright of Blackwood, N.J., on August 16, 1972, Bob grew up a diehard Philadelphia sports fan. He graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School and Villanova University, where he played football with players who became life-long friends. After teaching history at Gloucester Catholic for a few years, he went on to work for Bank of America Merrill Lynch and most recently, Mizuho Securities. Bob had the opportunity to work with so many special people, many of whom became his closest friends. His passion for life was evident in his bigger than life personality, his love of family, and his commitment to leadership. Nothing brought Bob more joy than time on the golf course with friends, good music and his grill.
A Memorial Wake Service will be held for Bob on Wednesday, October 23, from 4-8 p.m., at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken, N.J., (corner of Washington and Seventh Streets, parking on Seventh). A Memorial Funeral Mass will be offered at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hoboken (corner of Fourth and Hudson) on Thursday, October 24, at 10 a.m. Interment private.
