Villanova, Pa. – Villanova volleyball plays a unique portion of its conference schedule this weekend, taking on Georgetown in back-to-back matches. The Wildcats will head to the nation's capital for the first match Friday at 5 p.m. The two teams will each then return to Villanova for the second match on Sunday, also at 5 o'clock.
 
Villanova (16-6, 7-3) enters the weekend in third in the BIG EAST, two games back of Marquette in second place. The Wildcats will look to ride the momentum they created last weekend, coming off two road wins at Butler and Georgetown.
 
Senior setter Emma Decker is just 34 assists shy of the program's all-time record. She'll be shooting to break that record this week, and can potentially do so in Friday night's match.
 
Villanova is 24-30 all-time against the Hoyas, but 12-6 in the matchup during head coach Josh Steinbach's tenure.
 
Georgetown (12-12, 2-8) will enter the match in search of a win after dropping its previous three. Gerogetown proved they can win in the non-conference slate, winning its last seven non-con matches, but has struggled in conference play. The Hoyas' offense is led by Iva Vujosevic with 320 kills, a number good for second in the conference. Vujosevic also has four of the top five marks for total attacks in a match in this season among conference qualifiers. She has been helped out by Emma Plutnicki's 591 assists this year. The defense is anchored by Jessica Cusi's 334 digs, while two other Hoyas have posted over 200.
 
"It's a big weekend, every weekend at the end of the year feels big and this one is no different," Coach Steinbach said. "I think playing at Georgetown is challenging, they're good in their gym. We are going to have to play really well in order to get one Friday night, and turning around with the same team on Sunday isn't going to be easy. We're looking forward to these matches, but we understand how important each one is at this stage of the year."
