Villanova Announces 2020 Football Schedule

VILLANOVA, PA. -- Villanova University Athletics today announced the 2020 Wildcat football schedule. The Wildcats will play an 11-game schedule next year, including eight CAA games and three non conference contests.
 
The Wildcats will kickoff the season on Saturday, Sept. 5, with a home game versus the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. This will be the second consecutive year that Villanova will play host to Lehigh. Following the opener, Villanova is scheduled to play a second straight Patriot League opponent with a game at Bucknell on Sept. 12.
 
Villanova will finish the non conference part of its schedule on Sept. 19, with a game at ACC member Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons are coached by Dave Clawson who was the Villanova Offensive Coordinator from 1996-98.    
 
The CAA portion of the schedule will begin on September 26 with a home contest versus the Rhode Island Rams. Villanova's first road conference game is set for Oct. 3 at Albany who is participating in this year's NCAA FCS playoffs.
 
After returning home to play Towson on Oct. 10, Villanova will travel to Maine on Oct. 17, before finishing the October schedule by hosting perennial CAA power James Madison on Oct. 24.
 
Villanova is scheduled to play two of its three final games on the road. The November  schedule begins with back-to-back road games at Stony Brook and at Delaware. The team will close out the 2020 regular season with a game at Villanova Stadium versus Elon.
