Lexington, Va. – A 12-10 win leads the Wildcats to a 3-0 record in MAAC play.
Villanova started off MAAC play 2-0 on Saturday and improved on their record on Sunday with a 12-10 victory of St. Francis Brooklyn.
Kate Murray and
Kate Stenmoen each buried three goals to lead the Wildcats.
Kaysie Stuba had two goals and
Charlotte Curran,
Paris Huffman,
Isabel Herbst, and
Amanda Rice all had a goal each to help Villanova edge the Terriers.
It was a back and forth game all way through halftime when Villanova led 8-7. They then scored three of the next four goals to give themselves an 11-8 lead.
The Terriers would cut it to 12-10 at the end of three, but those would be the final goals of the game as
Gaby Palmisano wouldn't allow a goal in the fourth. She finished the day picking up the win and allowed 10 goals and had six saves.
The Wildcats will have next weekend off and will be back in action March 23rd for more conference action.
