Villanova Announces 2019 Football Schedule

VILLANOVA, PA. – Villanova University Athletics today announced the 2019 Wildcat football schedule. The Wildcats will play a 12-game schedule next year, including eight CAA games and four non conference contests.

The Wildcats will kickoff the season on Saturday, August 24, with a game at Colgate. Last year, the Raiders went 10-2 overall and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the FCS playoffs. Colgate led all of FCS Football last season in scoring defense by giving up 9.3 points per game.

Following a bye on Labor Day Weekend, Villanova will open the home portion of its schedule on September 7 versus Lehigh. This will be the third straight year that the Wildcats and Mountain Hawks have played. The next Saturday, Villanova will play a third straight Patriot League opponent when the Wildcats travel to Lewisburg to take on Bucknell.

The CAA portion of the schedule will begin on September 21 with a road game at Towson.  Villanova's first home CAA home game is set for September 28 versus the Maine Black Bears who are coming off a season that saw them advance to the national semifinals.

October begins with back-to-back trips to Virginia. After playing at William & Mary on October 5, the Wildcats will travel to James Madison on October 12. The rest of October includes a bye week on October 19 and a home date with Stony Brook on October 26.

Following a game at New Hampshire on November 2, Villanova will conclude the November portion of its schedule with three straight home games. The three-game stretch begins by hosting Richmond on November 9 and continues with the final non conference contest of the year versus Long Island on November 16. The annual Battle of the Blue game against Delaware will be the season finale on Nov. 23 at Villanova Stadium.

The 2019 Wildcat football schedule is presented by Independence Blue Cross.
