Claremont, Ca. – In a very back and forth game, Villanova was able to pull away in the end to beat La Verne 12-8. In the second game of the day Fresno Pacific was able to squeak past the Cats 15-14.

Kaysie Stuba led the way for Villanova burying four goals in the game.
Charlotte Curran was just behind her with three goals.

Malia Gacutan,
Kate Stenmoen,
Camille Oswald, and
Amanda Rice each scored a goal of their own.
The game was tied 8-8 with just over six and a half minutes left. This is when Villanova took over led by Curran who scored two straight goals to give the Cats a 10-8 lead. Rice scored with 35 seconds left and Stenmoen scored three seconds later to add some insurance and seal the deal.
Rachel Jennings picked up another win for the Wildcats.
Gaby Palmisano also saw action allowed five goals and had three saves.
Fresno Pacific
The Wildcats dropped a nail biter to close out the Convergence Tournament.
Paris Huffman led the team in scoring with three goals on five shots.
Kate Murray, Curran, Stenmoen, and Rice each had two goals. Breen, Stuba, and Oswald had one apiece.
Fresno Pacific scored with 2:26 left to go up by two and it was just enough to sink the Wildcats chances. Stemoen scored with 1:55 left to cut it to one, buy could not get one more.
The Wildcats end the tournament with a 3-1 record and improve to 5-7 overall. The next game will be Monday night against Whittier College at 8:00 PM.
