NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Tuesday, Mar. 26 the BIG EAST announced its weekly women's lacrosse awards. For the third straight week and fourth time this year, freshman goalkeeper, Alexa Moro was named Freshman of the Week, though this week she was tabbed for both Freshman and Defensive Player of the Week.

Alongside Moro, Ashley Lynch and Devin Hassinger were named to the Weekly Honor Roll. This marks Lynch's first honor of the season and Hassinger's second.

Moro receives both honors after grabbing her sixth win of the season in the net for the Wildcats. In her team's 11-10 overtime win against Columbia on Tuesday, Mar. 19, Moro made 11 saves, faced 26 shots and posted a .524 save percentage.  The freshman keeper now has an overall percentage of .490 and her 11 saves also marked the fifth time she has recorded double-digit saves this season.

Lynch led the Wildcats with four points and collected two ground balls in Villanova's Tuesday victory. The junior attack scored one goal of her own and had an assisting hand in three others.

Hassinger was key in keeping the ball in the hands of the Wildcats against Columbia. In the win she tallied 10 draw controls, reaching double-digits for the first time this season. For the season she has recorded a total of 69 draw controls and is averaging 6.9 per contest. Hassinger also scored one goal, collected two ground balls and caused two turnovers. 

The Wildcats will return to action this Saturday, Mar. 30 with their first BIG EAST Conference game of the season. The team will take a trip to Milwaukee, Wis. and face the Marquette Golden Eagles at 12 p.m. CT.
