INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Villanova women's lacrosse (8-6, 2-3 BIG EAST) wraps up its regular season on April 25 with a road matchup at Butler. The opening draw is set for 12 p.m. at Varsity Field.
The Wildcats are coming off a close 9-8 setback to No. 25 Georgetown on Saturday afternoon. Elena Torres led the offense with her third hat trick of the season, while Allie Bell matched her career high with 10 saves in goal and added three ground balls.
Butler (3-12, 0-5 BIG EAST) enters the contest still in search of its first conference win after falling to Marquette, 20-6, in its last outing.
Villanova holds a 9-0 advantage in the all-time series, including an 18-6 victory over the Bulldogs in last season's meeting.
Villanova's BIG EAST Tournament hopes hinge on Marquette's result at UConn. The Wildcats can secure the No. 4 seed with either a win at Butler or a loss, as long as Marquette defeats UConn. However, if UConn beats Marquette, Villanova will be eliminated regardless of its outcome against Butler.
The game will be streamed on Hometeam Network with live stats available on StatBroadcast.
