VILLANOVA, Pa. – Guard Chris Arcidiacono (Langhorne, Pa.) has signed a national letter of intent to enroll at Villanova this fall and play for the Wildcats. Arcidiacono starred at the Perkiomen School in 2018-19 after a stellar career at Neshaminy High School.
Â
The signing extends the Arcidiacono's legacy at Villanova. Joe and Patty Arcidiacono, Chris' parents, are Villanova graduates. Joe Arcidiacono played football for the Wildcats and Chris Arcidiacono's older brother, Ryan, was a four year starter at guard for the Wildcats (2012-16) who capped his career by feeding Kris Jenkins for the game-winning 3-pointer in a 77-74 victory over North Carolina in the NCAA championship game.
Â
"We're thrilled to welcome another Arcidiacono on to the court – they are always a part of the family," stated Villanova head coach
Jay Wright. "Chris has worked tirelessly to develop his game and we know he understands the culture of our program as well as any recruit could. We look forward to working with Chris as he begins his own unique journey here at Villanova."
Â
Chris Arcidiacono, 6-3, averaged 20.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game during the 2018-19 season at Perkiomen. Prior to that he was a second team all-state selection at Neshaminy High School.
Â
Arcidiacono becomes the fifth member of a recruiting class that is ranked third in the nation by 247 Sports. The remainder of the 2019-20 Villanova freshman class includes guard Bryan Antoine and forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, both of whom were selected to the 2019 McDonald's All-American Team; Guard Justin Moore, who joined Robinson-Earl at the Nike Hoops Summit; and forward Eric Dixon, who was USA Today's choice as Pennsylvania Player of the Year.
