Men's Lacrosse to Take on No. 10 Denver Saturday on CBS Sports Network

Facing Off:  The Villanova Wildcats will travel to Denver, Colorado to take on the Denver Pioneers Saturday afternoon on CBS Sports Network.  Game time is set for 5:00 P.M. ET.

Series History:  Saturday marks the 14th meeting all-time between the Wildcats and Pioneers.  Villanova won three of the previous meetings and Denver has not lost a BIG EAST conference game.  The Wildcats won 9-4 in 2001 at home, this was the last win over the Pioneers. 

A Look at Villanova:  The Wildcats are riding a three game winning streak heading into their first conference road game.  Villanova defeated Marquette in their conference opener last weekend by a final of 15-11.  The Wildcats picked up back-to-back road wins to close out non-conference play at Fairfield and Brown. 

Villanova's Offense:  Corey McManus scored a career high seven goals against Marquette leading the Wildcats to their first BIG EAST win.  For his efforts McManus picked up his second straight BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week honors.  On the season now, Villanova has three players with 20+ goals and four with 20+ points.  Connor Kirst who had nine points during Villanova's two games last week leads the team with 35 points.  Kirst this week earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor roll after having a five points performance against Marquette.   

Villanova's Defense:  Goalkeeper Will Vitton earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors after having a career high 15 saves during Villanova's 15-11 win against the Golden Eagles.  SSDM TJ Comizio is now fourth all-time in career caused turnover and this season he leads the team with 15 this season.  Comizio also has 45 ground balls and five points. 

A Look at Denver:  The Pioneers are 6-3 overall and 1-0 in BIG EAST play entering Saturday's matchup.  Last weekend was a rematch of last year's BIG EAST Tournament Championship game, but this time Denver came out on top by a final of 16-9.  Junior attackman Ethan Walker leads the team with 29 points on 21 goals and eight assists.  Both Ellis Geis and Jack Hannah have contributed 20 points this season with Hannah leading the team in assists with 12.  Brett Boos is Denver primary FOG this season.  Overall Boos is 116-for-208 (.558) with 48 ground balls.  In goal for over 514 minutes this season has been senior Alex Ready.  Ready this season has a 8.49 goals against average along with a .517 save percentage.
