VILLANOVA, Pa. – Incoming freshman Bryan Antoine (Tinton Falls, N.J.) underwent successful surgery earlier today on his right (shooting) shoulder. The procedure was performed by Villanova Team Surgeon, Dr. William Emper. Antoine will begin rehabbing the injury while attending summer classes at Villanova, which began May 29.
Antoine, a 6-5 guard, capped a stellar career at the Ranney School in March, finishing as the Shore Conference's all-time leading scorer and a McDonald's All-American. He is listed at No. 15 in the espn.com ranking of the class of 2019 prospects and at No. 16 in the 247 Sports Top 100.
"This is a tough start for Bryan," stated Villanova head coach
Jay Wright. "But he's a very mature young man and he'll work very hard to get himself back as soon as possible."
Antoine is one of six newcomers to the 2019-20 Wildcats. He is joined by fellow freshmen Chris Arcidiacono, Eric Dixon, Justin Moore, and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl along with Tulane transfer Caleb Daniels, who will sit out the upcoming campaign per NCAA transfer rules.
