NEW YORK—A group of six sprinters and three throwers competed for Villanova on the second and last day of the Dr. Sander Invitational/Columbia Challenge at The Armory on Saturday afternoon. On the day's schedule for the Wildcats were the 200 meters and the 400 meters, the 4x400 meter relay and the weight throw.
Junior sprinter
Richie Bush (Lawnside, N.J.) recorded a time of 22.23 to finish 18
th out of more than 50 runners in the 200 meters. He later let off the 4x400 relay with a split of 50.01 as Villanova placed 18
th in the race with a time of 3:17.42. Senior
Konrad Bayer (Naperville, Ill.), junior
Keegan Hughes (Malvern, Pa.) and freshman
Anthony Brodie (Bronx, N.Y.) followed Bush in the relay. Brodie closed the race with a team-best split of 48.09 on the anchor leg.
Brodie also led Villanova with a time of 49.22 in the 400 meters. He came in ninth overall out of 50 entries. Hughes was 10
th with a time of 49.24, Bayer placed 36
th (50.97) and senior
Dan Powers (Chadds Ford, Pa.) crossed the finish line with a time of 51.58 to come in 42
nd. Junior
Amir Brock (Egg Harbor Twp., N.J.) ran the 200 meters and finished with a time of 22.89.
Senior thrower
Jadyn Anczarski (Ringtown, Pa.) led three Wildcats in the weight throw with a mark of 15.61 meters. Junior
Billy Loewen (Sparta, N.J.) threw for a distance of 13.92 meters and senior
Chika Nwachukwu (Lawrence, N.J.) registered a throw of 13.69 meters.
Villanova returns to action next Saturday when it hosts the Villanova Invitational at Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
