VILLANOVA, Pa. – Two members of the 2019-20 Villanova Wildcats earned weekly award recognition on Monday, Jan. 6.

Junior guard
Collin Gillespie (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood High School) was selected as the Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Week. In Villanova's 68-62 victory over Xavier on Dec. 30, Gillespie led the way with 24 points. He averaged 15.0 points per game in a 1-1 week for Nova.

Meanwhile, guard
Justin Moore (Fort Washington, Md./DeMatha High School) was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. It was the fourth time Moore has been honored by the BIG EAST with this award and fifth time a Wildcat has received the honor.
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl was tabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Nov. 11.

Moore averaged 13.5 points per game for the Wildcats last week. He also collected an average of 4.0 rebounds per contest, including six caroms on Saturday at Marquette.

Also on Monday, the Wildcats fell to No. 16 in the weekly Associated Press poll. Villanova had been at No. 10 in each of the past two weeks. The 'Cats have been ranked every week thus far in 2019-20.Villanova is also at No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches poll, after being at No. 9 the last two weeks.

Villanova returns to action on Tuesday night. The Wildcats are in Omaha, Neb., to face BIG EAST rival Creighton in a contest that gets underway shortly after 9 p.m. eastern time. FS1 will air the game with Jeff Levering and Nick Bahe describing the action while Ryan Fannon and
