Maddy Siegrist (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) has been named the BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week.
Siegrist earns the award for her play in Saturday's 73-68 win over the Creighton Bluejays. In 37 minutes of action, Siegrist tallied 34 points, a career-high 19 rebounds, three assists and three blocks. The 34 points came on 11-of-22 shooting (2-of-7 from three-point range) and a 10-of-14 effort from the foul line. She now has three career games of 30+ points, including two this season.
After seven games in 2020-21, Siegrist leads Villanova in scoring with a 24.4 points per game average and rebounding with a 12.6 rebounds per contest average. She also leads the BIG EAST in double-doubles with six.
Siegrist and the Wildcats return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 22, when the No. 3 Connecticut Huskies visit the Finneran Pavilion. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
