NEW YORK – Villanova University senior forward Sarah Mortensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) has earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. This is the first conference honor of the year for Mortensen.
 
In Villanova's lone game of the week, Mortensen scored a team-high 17 points to go with nine rebounds in a loss to No. 3 Connecticut. She also added one assist and a steal.
 
Mortensen has played in six games this season and is averaging 12.2 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per contest. She is shooting .477 from the field (31-of-65) and has also tallied 15 assists, seven steals and four blocks.
 
The Wildcats (7-1 overall; 2-1 BIG EAST) are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, Jan. 2, when the Georgetown Hoyas visit the Finneran Pavilion. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
