Justin Moore is the Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday afternoon. The sophomore from Fort Washington, Md., was also selected to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for his efforts in helping Villanova win a pair of games last week.
 
On Sunday, the 6-4 Moore tallied 19 points to go with three rebounds as Villanova knocked off No. 17 Texas at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. The Longhorns had captured the Maui Invitational title earlier in the week.
 
Moore also helped lead the Wildcats to an 87-53 victory over Hartford earlier in the week, contributing 15 points to the cause at Mohegan Sun Arena.
 
Also on Monday, the Wildcats climbed three spots in the Associated Press weekly poll to No. 9. Villanova came in at No. 6 in the nation in this week's USA Today Coaches poll.
 
The Wildcats are slated to open BIG EAST play Friday at Georgetown (5 p.m/FS1 and 95.7 Ben FM).
