NEW YORK, N.Y. – The BIG EAST announced on Tuesday morning that two Wildcats, freshman midfielder Catherine Field and senior attack Katie Comerford, both earned weekly honors.

Field was named Freshman of the Week and Comerford was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Field made her college debut last weekend in Villanova's matchup on the road against William & Mary. The Durham, N.C., native finished the game with two assists, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls, helping the Wildcats to a 16-12 victory over The Tribe.  

Comerford started off her senior campaign strong, scoring a team-high four goals and three assists for a total of seven points for the Wildcats on Saturday. The senior captain led Villanova's attack who put up 40 shots as a unit for the day. Last season, the Yorktown Heights, N.Y., native, was named to the Weekly Honor twice.

Villanova will be on the road again this weekend. The team travels to Ithaca, N.Y., to take on Cornell on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
