After a shaky first round, Villanova golf showed improvement in rounds two and three of the Martin Downs Collegiate in Palm City, Florida. Villanova finished in 14
th place.
Villanova came back from a 313 opening round to fire a 299 in the second and a 304 in the final round.
Jack O'Hara paced the Wildcats in the second round with an even-par 72. He came out hot and posted a 4-under front nine (began round on No. 10) that included three birdies and an eagle on the par-five 13
th. He cooled off on the back but did enough on the front to hang on for his 72.
Reb Banas also had a solid second round shooting a 2-over 74 with three birdies in his round, and played the back nine at even par.
Villanova was paced in the final round by
Noah Peck's 72. Peck notched five birdies in the round, including three in a row on holes 4-6.
Banas played another steady round on Sunday, carding a 75 with 13 pars in his round.
Villanova returns to action on March 2 when they return to Florida for the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate.
