Villanova University redshirt freshman forward Maddy Siegrist (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Wildcat senior forward Mary Gedaka (Mullica Hill, N.J.) have both earned honors for their play in two games last week. Siegrist was named the Big East Rookie of the Week for the ninth time this season, while Gedaka earned a spot on the Big East Weekly Honor Roll, in addition to being awarded the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week.
 
Siegrist averaged 17.5 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per contests in two games last week. Her best performance of the two came against St. John's when she had 22 points in a 66-64 overtime win. In Sunday's two-point loss to Seton Hall, she tallied her BIG EAST leading ninth double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Gedaka averaged 21.0 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per contest and 4.0 assists per games in the two contests. She was credited with 26 points and seven rebounds against Seton Hall and she registered a double-double with 16 points and 13 caroms versus St. John's.
 
Villanova returns to action on Friday, Feb. 7, with a road game at Xavier. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
