VILLANOVA, Pa. – On Tuesday afternoon, sophomore goalkeeper
Alexa Moro was named the IWLCA/StringKing Division 1 Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the cage in Villanova's 13-11 win over local rival Temple.
In what would end up being the last game of the season, Moro made 12 saves, recording a save percentage of .522 on 30 shots faced, which includes 23 on goal, her second highest of the season.
As a team, Villanova held the Owls to just two goals in the entire first half.
Moro's performance also helped the Wildcats break a four game losing streak and record their third straight victory over Temple.
This is Moro's second time being named a IWLCA Player of the Week this season and she remains Villanova only athlete ever selected for it.
She also earned the title on Feb. 25 after Villanova defeated then-No.16 Navy on the road.
