CBS to Rebroadcast 2016 and 1985 NCAA Title Games

2016 game to air Sunday at 4 p.m.

NEW YORK, N.Y. –  CBS is airing rebroadcasts of a handful of classic NCAA Tournament contests over the next two weekends. Two involve the Villanova Wildcats.

The first of those will be replayed Sunday, March 22 at 4 p.m. That's when the network will show the 2016 NCAA Tournament championship game originally played April 4, 2016 at Houston's NRG Stadium. The Wildcats claimed their second NCAA national championship in dramatic fashion. With 4.7 seconds to play and the game deadlocked at 74, Kris Jenkins inbounded a pass to Ryan Arcidiacono, who dribbled down the left side of the floor. He then found Jenkins trailing the play.

Jenkins raised up and drilled a 3-pointer to give the Wildcats the victory.

Next Sunday, March 29, CBS will re-broadcast the Wildcats' first NCAA championship title game victory, the classic that has come to be known as "The Perfect Game". Villanova, coached by Rollie Massimino, knocked off a powerhouse Georgetown team, 66-64, as it connected on .786 of its field goal attempts over the course of 40 minutes.

That game will be shown at 1 p.m. eastern time.

The 2019-20 season – Villanova's 100th college basketball campaign – is presented by Hartford Funds and Coca-Cola.
