SAN DIEGO, Ca. – Villanova (6-1, 1-0 BIG EAST) is rolling into one of the best starts to a season in school history, earning it fifth straight win with a 4-3 victory over Point Loma on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite losing the doubles point, four Wildcats rallied to win their respective double matches.
At the top of the lineup in the No. 1 spot, sophomore
Lindsay Zimmermann battled through three sets to defeat her opponent Ellie Gamble 3-6, 6-3, 6-12.

Carina Burdick (6-2, 6-4) and No. 6 freshman
Caitlin Fisher (6-3, 6-2) each won their respective matches in straight sets.
Fisher remains undefeated this season in singles play.
Junior
Lexi DeNucci clinched the match for Villanova in the No. 3 spot, going three sets against the Sea Lion's Rachel Whittington 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
The Wildcats will look to finish out their West Coast trip today when they take on UC Irvine this afternoon.
