Bridget Baxter-Orchard elected into the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame

NEW YORK, NY -- Villanova University Head Softball Coach, Bridget Baxter-Orchard has been elected and named as one of 14 individuals who will be enshrined into the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame - Class of 2021.

Orchard just completed her second season as head coach at Villanova, having a 14-13 record this season after a 29-24 mark in 2019. Before that, Orchard coached 17 seasons at Fordham, compiling 624 wins and leading the Rams to Atlantic 10 titles in seven of her last eight seasons.

As a player at Binghamton High, Orchard earned Class A all-state honors three times (first team, third and fifth) before graduating in 1993. She went on to play for the Wildcats from 1994 to 1997, setting school records with 216 career hits and 110 runs. She was first team All-Big East in 1995.

Coach Orchard joins Villanova University Assistant Softball Coach, Chelsea Plimpton, in the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame, as Coach Plimpton was inducted as part of the Class of 2018.

Coach Orchard's induction ceremony will take place on Saturday evening, May 1, 2021 at the Hall of Fame Pavilion, located in Herkimer, New York.
