Villanova returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 27, when the Wildcats play host to the Marquette Golden Eagles in a BIG EAST battle. Both teams enter play with identical 9-2 overall records. The Wildcats are 4-2 in conference action, while Marquette is 6-1 in league play. Tip-off at the Finneran Pavilion is set for 7 p.m.

The Wildcats are coming off an 81-78 overtime win over St. John's on Monday night in its first game in 19 days. After winning 78-71 at Seton Hall on Jan. 6, the Wildcats went on pause for two weeks due to COVID-19 issues within the program.

Wednesday's game against Marquette will be Villanova's seventh home contest of the year. The Wildcats are currently 5-1 at home this season with the lone loss to No. 3 Connecticut.

In Monday's win over St. John's, Villanova had all three of its starting forwards record double-doubles. Sophomore
Maddy Siegrist led the way with 24 points and 10 rebounds, followed by senior
Brianna Herlihy who had 14 points and 12 rebounds and
Sarah Mortensen with 12 points and 11 caroms. For the year, Siegrist has seven double-doubles, while Herlihy and Mortensen have two each.

Raven James has tallied 29 assists and nine turnovers for a 3.2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. For the year, James leads Villanova in assists with 49.

Villanova is led in scoring and rebounding by Siegrist who is averaging 24.0 ppg. and 11.0 rpg. Two other Wildcats are averaging double figures, including Herlihy at 14.8 ppg., and Mortensen who is scoring 12.9 ppg.
