Villanova, Pa.- Villanova University head women's basketball coach Denise Dillon today announced the 2021-22 Wildcat schedule. Villanova will play a 29-game schedule, including 20 Big East Conference contests and four Philadelphia Big Five games.
 
The 2021-22 campaign begins on Nov. 10 when the Princeton Tigers visit the Finneran Pavilion for the season opener. Following the match-up with Princeton, the Wildcats hit the road for three consecutive away games at Maryland (Nov. 12), Saint Joseph's (Nov. 20) and Penn (Nov. 22).
 
Villanova returns home for back-to-back games when the Wildcats play host to Temple on Nov. 27 and Lehigh on Dec. 1. After opening BIG EAST Conference play on the road at Providence (Dec. 3) and at Creighton (Dec. 5), Villanova closes out non- conference play with three December contests. The Wildcats will travel to James Madison on Dec. 9, return home to face Oregon State on Dec. 12, before playing at La Salle on Dec. 21.
 
Beginning with a home game versus Seton Hall on New Year's Eve, Villanova will play 18 consecutive BIG EAST games to finish the season.   
 
The BIG EAST Conference previously announced an agreement with leading sports streaming service FloSports to be the home of the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) presented by SoFi for the 2021-22 academic year. FloSports served as the digital home of BIG EAST women's basketball in 2020-21, and expanded its BEDN lineup to include more than 500 Olympic sports events, as well as BIG EAST original content such as "Shootaround" and "Fast Break," the Conference's weekly men's and women's basketball feature shows. FloSports offers both monthly and annual subscriptions, and as part of the expanded agreement, BIG EAST member institution student and faculty discounts will be made available.
 
Villanova is set to make five national television appearances this year as part of the Big East TV package. The televised games include home games against Connecticut (Jan. 7) and Marquette (Feb. 11) and road contests at DePaul (Jan. 14), Marquette (Jan. 16) and Connecticut (Feb. 9).
