VILLANOVA TRAVELS TO JAMES MADISON ON SUNDAY

Game Time Is Set For 2 p.m.

Villanova will travel to Harrisonburg, Va., on Sunday afternoon to take on the James Madison Dukes. The Wildcats enter play with a 2-2 record, while James Madison is 3-1 on the season. Game time is set for 2 p.m., and it can be seen on ESPN+.

The Wildcats and Dukes will be meeting for just the sixth time when the two teams play on Sunday afternoon. Villanova leads the all-time series by a 3-2 count. In last year's meeting in a game played at Villanova, the Dukes tallied a 71-67 victory. Villanova is 2-0 in games played in Harrisonburg (69-67 win on March 23, 2017; 76-67 win on Dec. 9, 2021).

Sunday's game at James Madison will be Villanova's first road game of the season. The Wildcats have played three of the first four games at home where they have gone 1-2. The fourth game was a neutral site contest in Toronto versus VCU. Villanova was 8-6 in road games last season.

Villanova is coming off a 73-68 home loss to the Princeton Tigers on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Jasmine Bascoe led the Wildcats in the loss with 16 points, while freshman Kennedy Henry had 13 points and Denae Carter finished with 12 points. Princeton was paced by Fadima Tall who had a game-high 21 points to go with nine rebounds. Madison St. Rose finished with 17 points and Skye Belker had 13 points. For the game, Villanova was 24-of-55 from the field (43.6%), 5-of-21 from three-point range (23.8%) and 15-of-19 from the foul line (78.9%), while the Tigers shot 41.4 percent from the floor (24-of-58), 26.3 percent from long distance (5-of-19) and 83.3 percent from the charity stripe (83.3%).

James Madison is 3-1 on the season with wins over Kent State (80-48), Queens of Charlotte (87-38) and Liberty (74-61). The
Dukes lone loss came to George Mason by a score of 72-57.

Henry has had a strong start to her collegiate career. After four games, she leads the Wildcats in five statistical categories including minutes played (31.0 mpg.), assists (17), steals (9), blocks (9) and rebounding with a 5.5 rebounds per game average. She also ranks second on the team in scoring at 9.0 points per contest.  In her last outing versus Princeton, Henry had 13 points, six steals and five rebounds.

After four games, Villanova is led in scoring by sophomore guard Jasmine Bascoe who is averaging 18.3 points per game. She also leads the Wildcats in three-point field goals made with nine and she is tied for the team lead in rebounding at 5.5 rebounds per contest.
